About
Had a stressful week? Going through a tough time? Have you thought about getting a dog?
Come down to Paws For a Cause, where you can pat some dogs and chat with their owners. Some of the dogs you'll meet are trained therapy dogs — others are just everyday pets who somehow know exactly how to give you the dopamine hit you need, no training required. Come and see for yourself.
Paws For a Cause is held at Eades Park, which has a fenced, off-leash dog play area. All the dogs involved are pets, along with one dog currently in training to become a therapy dog.
Whether you have a fear of dogs or simply haven't spent much time around them, you'll be catered for. Inside the fenced area, dogs are off-leash. Outside the fenced area, dogs stay on-leash, so if you're nervous, you can stand and watch from there, meeting the dogs at your own pace, or one of the owners can bring their dog to you on a leash or carry them over in their arms.
