Capri Cinema, 141 Goodwood Road, Goodwood (Adelaide)

Join us for a special screening of the short documentary Fili Invisibili, with its award-winning director Fabio Schifilliti in attendance for a post-screening Q&A discussion. The documentary is in Italian with English subtitles; it was released in Italy in June 2025 and thus far not screened in Australia yet.
Fili Invisibili is created by students of ITT-LSSA Copernico, directed by Fabio Schifilliti, as part of the project “Oltre le ombre” (Beyond the Shadows), funded through the Cinema and Images for Schools initiative of the Italian Ministry of Culture and the Italian Ministry of Education and Merit.
The film traces the many “invisible threads” connecting the story of young Graziella Recupero, killed in 1956, and young Sara Campanella, killed in 2025— stories the Copernico students chose to bring to light through this short film that recounts victims of femicide 69 years apart, inviting reflection on what—if anything—has changed over seven decades.
Women are not passive recipients of change, but active participants in shaping our society—its present and its future—and their contributions must be openly acknowledged and celebrated. This is why, during this meaningful afternoon, we will also celebrate nine extraordinary women, whose achievements and empowering stories of success and resilience have been shared on air with Radio Italiana 531 in the week leading up to 8 March. Their voices and experiences reflect strength, leadership and community contribution.
The event is presented in collaboration by Com.It.Es South Australia, the Consulate of Italy in Adelaide, the Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Melbourne, Radio Italiana 531, Australia Donna, the Dante Alighieri Society South Australia and the Fay Gale Centre for Research on Gender.
Held on United Nations International Women’s Day, which 2026 theme is “Give to Gain”, this event invites our communities to reflect on how collective support, recognition and solidarity can contribute to a more equitable and inclusive society.
We warmly invite you to join us in celebrating film, communities and the inspiring contributions of women who continue to shape a stronger and more just society.
