• Join us as we operate 2 steam engines with heritage wooden E type carriages on our suburban shuttles, departing Essendon Station on a scenic 50 minute return journey to Flinders Street.

• These Shuttles will travel on 50 minute return journey along the Craigieburn Line, through the northern suburbs and into the city. Travel in our heritage wooden red rattler carriages dating back to 1908, featuring compartment seating, opening windows & pressed tin ceilings. Listen to the whistles of the engines as they work their way over the historic viaducts between Southern Cross and Flinders Street Station and catch a glimpse of the iconic Yarra River views from above Flinders Street as we arrive into Melbourne's CBD.

• Enjoy a fun family day out through Melbourne's inner north onboard The Vintage Train. 

• The One-way Transfer Trains will travel from Newport Station and Flinders Street to Essendon. 

• NOTE: DUE TO PLATFORM AVAILABILITY THESE STEAM TRAIN SHUTTLES DEPART TO AND FROM ESSENDON STATION ONLY, PASSENGERS CANNOT BOARD OR LEAVE THE TRAIN AT FLINDERS STREET.

TICKET OPTIONS

6 x return shuttles will depart Essendon at 9:55am, 10:56am, 11:55am, 12:55pm, 2:55pm and 3:55pm. These 50 minute shuttles will operate to Flinders Street Station and return, passengers will not be able to join/leave the train at Flinders Street.

One way transfer trips will depart at the following times - 
Newport (Platform 1) 8:53am, or Flinders Street (Platform 10) 9:22am, to Essendon arriving at 9:42am.
Essendon 4:55pm to Flinders Street (Platform 10) 5:14pm, or Newport arriving at 5:36pm.
