Time Management Techniques to succeed in Law School
Strategies for Success
Get ready! After two hugely successful and widely praised sessions, ECU’s School of Business and Law, together with the College of Law, is excited to present its 3rd “Time Management Techniques to Succeed in Law School” event.
This year is extra special — we’re hosting it at the brand‑new ECU City Campus, inside our state‑of‑the‑art Moot Court. It’s an inspiring space designed for future legal professionals and the perfect setting to sharpen the skills that will set you apart.
If you’re serious about excelling in law school (and surviving it!), this is an event you don’t want to miss.
Lawyers deal with constant pressure on their time, so strong time‑management skills aren’t optional—they’re essential. Yet law students are often handed vague advice like “get organised” or “find balance” without any real guidance. It’s no surprise many new graduates struggle when they enter legal practice.
At ECU, some of our top law students have managed to juggle intense study loads, work, and family commitments—and still achieve outstanding results. This year, we’ve invited several of them to share exactly how they did it. Their practical strategies, hard‑won lessons, and real‑world approaches will give you tools you can apply immediately.
Seats are limited, registrations will be processed on a first‑come, first‑served basis.
Keynote Speaker: The Honourable Justice Jenni Hill
We are privileged to welcome as our keynote speaker the Honourable Justice Jenni Hill, who will share her extensive knowledge of the legal profession.
Justice Hill graduated with a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the Australian National University in 1992 and was admitted to practice in Western Australia in 1994. She is a current member of the Law Course Consultative Committee at Edith Cowan University.
Her Honour was appointed partner at Bennett & Co in 2001. She joined Deacons (now Norton Rose Fulbright) as a partner in litigation and dispute resolution in 2005 and remained there until 2015. Immediately prior to her appointment to the Court, she was a partner at Clifford Chance. Among the highlights of her career, she cites her participation in seminars on globalisation, which she describes as offering a fascinating blend of trade and politics. She was appointed as a Judge of the Supreme Court of Western Australia on 4 June 2019.
