Goulburn Rail Heritage Centre 40th Anniversary Steam open weekend

About
Saturday and Sunday the museum will open its gates from 09:00am till 3:00pm. Many items of heritage rolling stock and equipment will be on display around museum. There will also be locomotives in steam. Allowing visitors inside a steam engine cab. Giving people the unique opportunity to get up close and personal with a real live operating steam locomotive. There will also be a main line steam locomotive on display for cab visits courtesy of our friends at the picnic train with crew members about to ask questions and give a bit of insight into what it is like to operate and maintain a steam locomotive on the main line in the modern world.
On Saturday night Enjoy the rare opportunity to photograph 6 steam engines in a section of the roundhouse. Like a time capsule transporting you back to the 50’s. Take the chance to watch as an engine comes off the mainline to be turned and stabled for the night. Locomotives 5917, R766 and 1076 will all be in steam along with locomotives B390, 3112 and 5908; which will be static.
