The “Come 'n; Try” Inclusive Lagoon Day is a community-based inclusion event held at the Cairns Esplanade Lagoon. The event is hosted by Spinal Life Australia, supported by CQUniversity and Surf Life Saving Queensland. The day focuses on participation, access, and belonging, demonstrating how public aquatic spaces can be used by people with disability across the lifespan as well as promoting the great work the local council has done regarding access and inclusion to public spaces. Rather than focusing on limitations, the event highlights environmental supports, shared experiences, and meaningful participation in water-based activities.Date
