WEBINAR Falls are often accepted as a normal part of ageing or disability, but they shouldn’t be. As a leading cause of injury, hospitalisation, and loss of independence, falls require informed, proactive prevention strategies. This practical, clinically focused webinar explores how assistive technology can be integrated into evidence-informed falls prevention. Participants will review key falls risk factors and the application of seating, bathroom supports, electric profiling beds, pressure care mattresses, and wheelchair cushions. The session also addresses falls risks associated with incorrect use of lift recliners and shower commodes, highlighting safe prescription, customisation, positioning, transfers, stability features, and maintenance to support safety, function, and independence across aged care and home-care settings.
