** if your Joey wets their bed, even occasionally, please either pack Dri-Nites etc and let a Leader know they've got them, or speak to us about other ways we can support your child to stay dry overnight.
Attending sleepovers, particularly for the first time, can be challenging for some Joeys but worthwhile for the sense of independence it can bring. Overnight activities strengthen bonds within a Joey Unit and help children build on their resilience.
To boost confidence in their ability to spend a night away from home, reassuring your Joey by letting them know what the night's activities will be, and reminding them that it's only a short while until pickup in the morning, will help them enjoy their sleepover experience.
As Leaders we have plenty of tried-and-true strategies for helping Joeys overcome sleepover anxieties. However, if we decide that your Joey can't stay the whole night we will phone you as soon as possible. Our hall is only a 5-10 min drive away for most families, in the unlikely event a pick-up call needs to be made.
For any new Joeys, we don't have a record of your personal health details please fill in the attached form, or if you are an existing member with new medical information please complete this form (we'll have some printed for you at Joeys on Tuesday): https://scoutsvictoria.com.au/media/9529/personal-information-record2026.pdf
We look forward to welcoming our Joeys to another fun-filled sleepover!
