Join us for a practical and engaging two-part Auslan workshop designed for the sporting community.π Sundays 22 & 29 March

Auslan is the recognised language of the Deaf community in Australia. This workshop is ideal for coaches, officials, volunteers, players, committee members and club leaders who want to make their sporting environments more welcoming and accessible to Deaf and Hard of Hearing participants.
No prior Auslan skills are required.
Led by Terence Childs, a native Auslan signer, these sessions offer not only practical skills but valuable insight into the Deaf world through lived experience. Participants will explore:
β’ The fundamentals of Auslan, including fingerspelling the alphabet
β’ Reading body language and understanding respectful communication
β’ Common conversations and how to ask questions
β’ Tennis-specific and general sport vocabulary
β’ Practical communication skills for training, game day and club events
Whether youβre on the court, field or in the clubhouse, this workshop will equip you with the confidence to communicate more inclusively and create a stronger sense of belonging in your club.
