Mt Dandenong Region OAS Adventure Day – Gilwell Park 2026
About
Join us for the Mt Dandenong Region Outdoor Adventure Skills (OAS) Open Day at Gilwell Park on Sunday 3 May 2026 — a full-day adventure experience designed to develop, challenge and showcase Outdoor Adventure Skills across the region. This structured rotational program gives youth members the opportunity to actively work on and extend their OAS progression in a range of core skill areas including:
🧗 Climbing & Abseiling
🌊 Paddling (Canoeing)
🌲 Vertical & High Ropes
🏹 Target Sports (Archery)
🚀 Flying Fox
Participants will rotate through instructor-led 1.5-hour activity blocks between 9:30am and 4:30pm, with a scheduled lunch break from 12:30pm–1:30pm.
The day is designed to:
• Support progression within the OAS framework
• Build confidence in adventurous environments
• Strengthen inter-Group connections across the Region
• Provide high-quality, supervised challenge experiences
Activity streams will include a standard four-activity rotation, as well as a High Ropes stream (which runs across two consecutive activity blocks due to program depth).
Activities are professionally led by the Gilwell Park Adventure Team. However, supervision of youth members remains the responsibility of attending parents and/or Scout Leaders at all times. This is not a drop-off event — no youth member is to be left onsite without appropriate adult supervision.
Arrival from 9:00am
Activities commence at 9:30am
Activities conclude from 4:30pm
Departure from 5:00pm
Further details including group allocations, supervision requirements, and what to bring will be provided closer to the event.
We look forward to seeing Scouts from across Mt Dandenong Region challenge themselves and advance their Outdoor Adventure Skills together.
