2026 Club Membership / Visitor Fees
UTS Fencing Club
University of Technology Sydney (UTS) Fencing Club is one of the most successful and competitive fencing clubs in Oceania. The Club has been home to current and former Australian National Representatives, Commonwealth, National and State Champions, as well as numerous NSW representatives. All three Olympic fencing disciplines—foil, épée and sabre—are actively practised at UTS Fencing.
With a proud history spanning more than 60 years, UTS Fencing has long been a nurturing ground for outstanding university and youth fencers, supporting athletes from their first introduction to the sport through to elite competition.
UTS Fencing is a diverse, inclusive, and welcoming club. We encourage participation from individuals of all ages and experience levels, whether you are completely new to fencing or an experienced competitor seeking high-quality training.
The Club offers structured coaching and training pathways from beginner to international level. UTS students and staff with no prior fencing experience can learn the fundamentals of the sport through our Learn to Fence programs and Women in Sport – Fencing initiatives. Many of Australia’s leading fencers first discovered the sport through a university fencing program. Fencing is dynamic, challenging, and fun—competitive experience is not required to enjoy being part of the Club.
Beyond training and competition, UTS Fencing has a strong social culture, with events held throughout the year that provide opportunities to connect with fellow members. UTS student fencers may also have the opportunity to represent the University at the Australian University Games and other inter-university competitions.
