90th Anniversary of the Cable Station

A 3 course meal at the Apollo Bay Golf Club to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the opening of the Apollo Bay Cable Station.Thursday 26th March at 5.30.
Meal prepared by Apollo Bay College VCE Hospitality students.
The Cable Station was declared open in March 1936 by Prime Minister J. Lyons.
The Coaxial submarine cable linked Victoria to Tasmania enabling telephone connection.
It was the longest coaxial cable in the world at that time.
The Cable Station today operates as the Apollo Bay Museum.
