VentSmart: Building Confidence in Critical Care
course description
'VentSmart: Building Confidence in Critical Care' is an interactive course designed specifically for junior ICU medical staff seeking to strengthen their foundational knowledge and clinical confidence in mechanical ventilation. This study day provides a structured, supportive environment to develop essential airway and ventilation management skills that are vital in critical care practice.Across eight hours of interactive learning, participants will engage in a dynamic combination of lectures, hands‑on workshops, skill stations, and simulation‑based scenarios. Core concepts of mechanical ventilation - including ventilator modes, troubleshooting, patient–ventilator interaction, and safe escalation - are explored with practical relevance to real-world ICU settings.
Faculty educators will guide learners through case-based exercises and supervised skill development, ensuring participants leave feeling more competent, capable, and confident in managing mechanically ventilated patients.
Participants will receive curated pre-reading material prior to the course to support baseline knowledge and maximise learning on the day.
