Join the NSW Stem Cell Network for its 36th workshop entitled “Beyond the Prize: The Research and Journeys That Lead to Scientific Impact” – a workshop about the experiences of a number of key people in the Australian scientific arena who cultivated a distinguished career through a strategic focus on their research area, leading to significant advancements in the field in addition to recognition of their achievements.This workshop will explore what drives perseverance, creativity, and collaboration in science.
Topics will include:
• From idea to breakthrough – the art of scientific innovation
• Turning research into discovery – balancing risk, data, mentorship, and teamwork
• The realities of scientific competition and recognition
• The emotional and professional challenges of navigating controversy
• Lessons on resilience, integrity, and the true meaning of scientific contribution
