Gleebooks presents the Sunday Sessions Book Club – a monthly gathering for book-lovers with host Heather McNab.
We meet in the relaxed setting of the Gleebooks cafe. Tickets are $15 full price, and $10 concession, and includes a glass of wine. We also offer a 15% discount for book club members off the price of the book we’re reading next. We will also have some exciting advance reading copies of new books to giveaway!
This month we take a breather from relatively new releases, and dip into the nineteenth century (albeit one with some topical interest! Emily Brontë's gothic classic Wuthering Heights.
Lockwood, the new tenant of Thrushcross Grange on the bleak Yorkshire moors, is forced to seek shelter one night at Wuthering Heights, the home of his landlord. There he discovers the history of the tempestuous events that took place years before- of the intense passion between the foundling Heathcliff and Catherine Earnshaw, and her betrayal of him. As Heathcliff's bitterness and vengeance is visited upon the next generation, their innocent heirs must struggle to escape the legacy of the past.
