Night at the Museum - the Harbour Pilot's Story
About
From 1881 to 1978 Kiama Harbour was controlled by a Pilot who lived with his wife and children in what is now a museum. This was during the heyday of Kiama’s quarrying resource boom after Robertson Basin opened in 1876.On Tuesday evening, 31 March 2026, Tony Gilmour will tell of the Pilot’s important job and how it contributed to Kiama’s success and prosperity.
Tony and Sue Eggins will then lead two tours, one inside and one outside the building. Visitors can access rooms not normally open to the public.
Doors open 5pm with the event starting at 5.30pm. Afterwards Kiama Historical Society will offer a complimentary glass of wine and finger food.
This event was sold-out when run on 19 February, so we're holding again for people who missed-out. Tickets limited to 40 so book soon!
