🌠Get ready to bring the heat at Swan Settlers Market’s newest showdown – The Great Hot Dog Throwdown! ðŸŒAfter the smokin’ success of Smokin’ In the Valley, we’re firing up the grills once again - but this time, it’s all about the dogs! We’re calling on our legendary BBQ teams to step up, stand out, and serve up their most outrageous, mouthwatering hot dog creations.
Do you have what it takes to rise to the top of the bun? Whether you’re a low ‘n slow specialist, a topping trailblazer, or a sausage-slinging superstar, this is your chance to relish the spotlight and show the crowds what you’re made of.
From classic crowd-pleasers to wild, creative flavour bombs, we want to see the dogs that will have the judges barking for more. Big flavours, bold ideas, and serious bragging rights are on the line.
So don’t be shy… It’s time to unleash your best and prove you’re top dog in the Valley.
Ancillary: Smokin In the Valley Hot Dog Competition Rules:
• Scoring: The standard KCBS weighted scoring system will be
used for Appearance, Taste and Tenderness/Texture.
o Appearance: .5600 (14.00% of total score)
o Taste: 2.2972 (57.43% of total score)
o Tenderness/Texture: 1.1428 (28.57% of total score)
• Sausage supplied by organiser must be used.
• Minimum of Three (3) ingredients must be used (Excluding
Sausage & Bun)
• Sausage may be cooked using any heat sources (Gas, Wood,
Electric or Charcoal)
• Teams must cook sausage on site the day of the contest.
• Team to provide presentation tray/containers/boards etc with
no markings, lettering or logos that will identify teams.
• Garnish is open and optional. However must be organic (Be
Creative)
• Only Buns to be used Long/Round, Bread slices are not
allowed. Teams to supply
• Teams must present minimum Four (4) Hot Dogs
• Hot Dogs will be cut in half by the Table Captain for Judges
after appearance.
• Ingredient list to be supplied at turn in
• Turn in Time 3.00pm Saturday 25th April
