The Noelle Aitkin Junior Encouragement Award β Celebrating Emerging Excellence in Classical Training
Registration Information
1. Teachers may register students on their behalf, or parents may complete individual registrations directly.
2. Each entry must include the dancerβs studio and teacher name.
3. Teachers who wish to confirm entries from their studio may request a booking summary from the organiser.
Noelle Aitkin performed with the National Theatre Ballet in the 1950s and made a significant contribution toward the development of ballet in Australia. This award honours her legacy and inspires young dancers to pursue excellence in classical ballet.
Cecchetti Ballet Australia (Victoria) is proud to present the Noelle Aitkin Junior Encouragement Award, celebrating students who show dedication, artistry and promise in their classical training.
Conducted as an unseen classical class, the award allows students to demonstrate their musicality, technique and understanding of the Cecchetti method in a positive and supportive environment.
Grade 2 and Grade 3 students are adjudicated separately.

β’ Four Gold Medal Recipients
β’ Honourable Mention Certificates
Trophy recipients will be invited to perform a short classical or demi-character solo, set by their teacher, at the Finals of the Enrico Cecchetti Victorian Medal Awards in May β a wonderful opportunity to perform on a larger stage.

β Eligibility
Students must:
β’ Be under 12 years of age as at 1 January 2026
β’ Hold a Grade 2 or Grade 3 Cecchetti Examination or Assessment Certificate obtained in 2025
Students must enter at the level corresponding to the grade passed in 2025.
Dress Requirements
Regulation Cecchetti Grade examination uniform is required.
