PMHS Parent Partnership Workshop 1 − Tomorrow Man
About
This workshop has been specifically designed for parents to gain a deeper understanding of the online experiences shaping the lives of teenage boys today. As the digital world becomes an increasingly significant part of young people’s social environment, it also exposes them to influences, both positive and challenging, that can significantly impact their identity, behaviour, relationships and wellbeing.During the session, experienced Tomorrow Man facilitators will:
- Unpack how gender stereotypes and online cultures influence teenage boys’ sense of self and behaviour;
- Explain what the “manosphere” is, how it appears online, and why it can appeal to young men;
- Explore how everyday online content can subtly shape attitudes, behaviour and expectations; and
- Equip parents with practical tools to have calm, constructive and respectful conversations with their sons about what they see and experience online.
Importantly, this workshop is designed not to alarm, but to empower, providing parents with greater insight, language and confidence to guide their sons through complex digital spaces while fostering healthy masculinity, empathy and respectful relationships.
We are particularly pleased to share that this is a new workshop offering from Tomorrow Man and has not been previously available in past years. Given the rapidly evolving online landscape and the increasing influence of digital communities on teenage boys, this updated session reflects the most current trends and challenges facing young men today. For this reason, we strongly encourage all parents and carers to register and attend this important and timely event.
This workshop provides a valuable opportunity to connect with other parents, ask questions, share insights, and strengthen the partnership between home and school in supporting our young men. Your presence and engagement play a vital role in shaping the positive development of your son.
