One of the most challenging client presentations for many therapists are clients on the narcissism spectrum. Whether it’s the client who is constantly talking about their achievements, the client who is used to getting whatever they want, the client who is the “biggest victim” or the charming manipulator. This seminar will focus on how to formulate common narcissistic presentations from a Schema Therapy perspective and practical tools to work with these clients.We will cover:
· Identifying narcissistic presentations
· Understanding unmet childhood needs in narcissism
· Chair work to build awareness and begin change
· Setting limits and empathic confrontation
· How to manage our own activation as therapists
