Tour Itinerary
Date: Tuesday, 10 March 2026
Start time: 10.00am
Meeting Point: Narrabri Region Visitor Information Centre – 103 Tibbereena Street, Narrabri NSW 2390
Introduction to Cotton (20 minutes):
The tour starts with a brief introduction to farming in the Narrabri Region. During the introduction, participants will learn about the history, significance, and farming processes involved in cotton production. They will have the opportunity to see our large red cotton picker, cotton samples, and browse various cotton products in the gift shop.
Farm Tour (10.20am-11.40am):
After the introduction, people hop on the bus and head out to the Federation Farm. The farm manager will host the tour, providing insight into cotton cultivation and harvesting.
End Time and Location:
The tour will conclude back at the Narrabri Region Visitor Information Centre at 12pm.
Health & Safety Protocols
Your safety is our top priority. To ensure a safe environment for everyone, please adhere to the following protocols:
• Always stay with the tour group and follow the guide's instructions.
• Listen to and follow the guide’s safety instructions throughout the day.
• It is essential to keep children closely supervised at all times during the farm tour.
• Familiarise yourself with the emergency exits, procedures and meeting points in case of an emergency.
• Farms can be dusty and may contain pollens that trigger allergies. If you have allergies, please bring any necessary medications (e.g., antihistamines or inhalers) with you. Inform the guide in advance of any allergies or medical conditions so we can ensure your safety.
• Stay hydrated throughout the tour, particularly during warmer months. Bring a water bottle and any snacks you might need.
• If you have any specific health concerns (such as heart conditions or mobility issues), please notify us before the tour so we can accommodate your needs accordingly.
• Limited toilet facilities are available on the tour.
What to Bring
To ensure the visitors have the best experience, the Narrabri Region recommends that visitors bring the following items:
• Water bottle
• Sunscreen, sunglasses, and insect repellent
• Allergy medications
• A small bag or backpack to carry personal items
• Seasonal clothing, wear appropriate clothing for the time of year:
o In warm weather, lightweight, breathable fabrics are best.
o In colder months, make sure to wear layers to stay warm, including hats and gloves.
o If rain is expected, bring waterproof clothing.
• Should wear comfortable and supportive enclosed footwear (No sandals or thongs).
Important Restrictions
• For your own safety, please do not leave the coach or bus during the farm tour.
• Pets: Unfortunately, pets are not allowed on the tour, except for service animals.
• Smoking and Alcohol: Smoking and alcohol consumption is not permitted during the tour.
• Avoid any interaction with animals, insects, and reptiles.
• Please do not enter the chemical storage areas, farm machinery zones, or any other restricted areas.
