The new Strengthened Aged Care Standards has a strong focus on respect for our Resident’s right to intimacy, sexual expression, and gender identity as well as ensuring safety from sexual misconduct.
This Education day in collaboration with The Family Violence Unit, Aged Care Quality Team and Aged Care Education Team.
The topics covered in the day will be wanted and unwanted sexualised behaviour, elder abuse, SIRS and staff rights and responsibilities, family violence, sexual needs documentation and policies, Lift The Lid Workshop - about sex and intimacy in care homes Designed by Alzheimer's Society UK.
