With expert guidance from the Hunter Bird Observer’s Club, we’ll explore the world of Maitland’s backyard birds and look for bird signs in the environment.Afterwards, we’ll take a closer look at the fascinating family lives of some of Australia’s most unique birds. Meet mighty giants like the southern cassowary and the emu, discover the lifelong bonds of the tawny frogmouth, the surprising tactics of white-winged choughs, and uncover the tricks of the channel-billed cuckoo.
From beautiful eggs to surprising parenting roles, you’ll learn how different birds raise their families in the wild. Then get creative and craft a bird egg of your very own to take home!
