Zine Lab: Paper Protest - Autumn School Holiday Program 2026
About
Zine Lab: Paper Protest is a hands-on school holiday workshop where participants learn the art of zine-making — the DIY print medium that’s been amplifying young voices for decades. Bring your opinions, ideas and things worth saying.Over the course of the day, participants will experiment with writing, collage, layout and design as they create their own zine from scratch. Whether it’s personal, political, playful or bold, this workshop is all about creative self-expression and making something that feels like you.
Special Guest Artist: Judy Kuo
We’re excited to be joined by special guest artist Judy Kuo (she/they) — a queer artist, illustrator and workshop facilitator based in Naarm/Melbourne. Judy is part of the Workers Art Collective and creates work that explores themes of identity, justice, community and resistance.
Her creative practice spans drawing, collage, zinemaking, printmaking and textiles, and she regularly facilitates workshops for participants of all ages. Judy brings a thoughtful, values-led approach to making and storytelling, making her a brilliant fit for Zine Lab: Paper Protest.
