40th Anniversary Service of the Russell St Bombing

On March 27 1986 a car bomb exploded outside Victoria Police Headquarters in Russell St Melbourne. Constable Angela Rose Taylor took the full force of the blast and died in hospital 24 days later. She was 21. Constable Taylor was the first policewoman in Australia to be murdered in the line of duty.The Russell Street bombing injured 21 other people including community members as well as police, with many of them, and others who witnessed the tragedy, continuing to carry visible and invisible scars.
This event is to come together and remember and honour all the victims of the Russell Street bombing and the death of Constable Taylor, 40 years on.
