This FREE event run by our friends at ozFish was driven by the kids of Vacy 🎣. Spend the day fishing on the river with friends and family, all the while raising awareness about this invasive species, helping to reduce their numbers, and testing the waters for making this an annual event 🌞🌊The prizes are EPIC!!! 🏆🎉 There is well over $1000 worth of fishing gear to be won!
Categories include:
1. Longest 🏅
2. Best photo 🖼️
3. Most caught by the same angler 🪣
Winners of each category will be per age bracket: up to 12 years, 13-17 years, and 18 years +
NOW with Platypus eDNA testing citizen research being conducted by participants on the day!!
We'll meet at 9am at Vacy oval to confirm registration and do a quick safety briefing ⛑️. We'll then spend the day fishing either at Vacy or your favourite fishing hole, and return 3pm to measure up, announce the winners, have a sausage sizzle, make biodynamic fertilizer from the carp caught and play some fishy games! 👧👦
It'll be a bag of fun for the whole family!! 🥳
