About

Food foresting is a sustainable gardening system designed to mimic the structure and function of a natural forest. It involves planting a diverse range of food-producing trees, shrubs, and plants together in a single ecosystem. This approach not only promotes biodiversity and soil health but also offers a wide variety of edible and medicinal plants and habitats for wildlife. Food forests are low-maintenance, requiring less water, fertiliser, and other resources than traditional gardens or farms. Food forests are resilient, sustainable and highly productive means of food production that can easily be achieved in your home garden.

Garden on Glenora is a 1-hectare (2.5 acre) property, owned and cared for by our family. We are in our 6th year of food foresting on our demonstration property, showcasing the diversity of food plants that can be grown in our climate in a food forest system. Garden on Glenora is a thriving food forest with the approach of growing a sustainable low maintenance resilient food system.

What to expect:
Join us for a morning packed with information and advice on how you can go about creating your very own food forest garden at home. We will show you how the different layers of a food forest garden support each other in order to create a thriving food forest system and we will introduce you to a number of tough, hardy plants that grow well in our climate and can handle the intense conditions when starting out. We will discuss easy propagation methods for future planting and talk about the resources required to get going.

Included:
Participants will be greeted with refreshments on arrival
FREE eBook Link on booking
Plant gift pack on commencement
Plenty of time for Q&A
