Griffith University will be hosting a Repair Cafe Week 10 at Brisbane South (South Bank) Campus. The Repair Cafe will be located at the campus forecourt on Tuesday 12 May 2026, 11am to 2pm as part of Enviro Week.Bring along your broken things and our skilled volunteers will show you how to fix it. We can mend clothing and bags, small furniture items, household electrical appliances, electronics and lamps, bikes, tools, toys, & more!
To be fair to everyone, please make only one booking for one item to be repaired. This way we can help more people - if your repair is a simple fix (then it may be possible to consider a second item but this will depend and cannot be guaranteed) We want to make sure the allocation of repair slots is equitable for everyone.
We estimate 30 mins per visit but some things may take longer or shorter so we ask that people come 10 mins before their allotted time.
Do:
- Bring along anything that repairers may need to complete the repair (for example, the product manual, or any parts that are needed (include fabric, threads etc) or other accessories required to make your broke item “go”.
- Make a booking (preferably) but drop by we'll do our best to help out!
Please note:
- Only bring things that you can carry yourself (e.g. no large items or furniture).
- No items can be left at the repair cafe.
- You must stay for the duration of your repair.
- Watch batteries, smart phone or computer repairs that need parts replaced - are not possible as we do not carry the relevant spare parts.
