About
The Cuthbert String Quartet began in 2022 as a group of professional orchestral musicians who came together out of a desire to explore the string quartet repertoire more deeply. We approach each work with thoughtful study and open discussion, sharing ideas shaped by our diverse musical experiences.Last year, the quartet performed early string quartets by Ludwig van Beethoven and Felix Mendelssohn, exploring the youthful spirit of these works. In the upcoming program, we turn to late quartets by Joseph Haydn and Franz Schubert, seeking to experience the maturity and depth of their musical writing.
