The Four-Step Referral Process PD strengthens Crisis Supporters’ understanding of referrals within the Lifeline context, emphasising that a referral is not simply directing a help seeker to a new service, but collaboratively exploring supportive next steps in alignment with the CARE framework. This session reinforces empowering help seekers to make informed decisions by recognising and building on their existing internal coping strategies, social supports, and professional connections before considering new external referrals. Participants will learn how to flexibly apply the four-step process in a help seeker–led manner, assess readiness and potential barriers, and appropriately utilise Lifeline’s in-built Service Finder system when required, ensuring referrals are ethical, person-centred, and consistent with organisational standardsDate
