The professional development session focuses on supporting Crisis Supporters to effectively recognize, understand, and respond to presentations of anger and heightened frustration from help seekers (HS). This PD explores underlying drivers such as distress, trauma, unmet needs, and perceived invalidation, while strengthening de-escalation skills, boundary setting, and emotionally regulated responses. Participants will enhance their ability to maintain empathy without reinforcing unhelpful patterns, apply practical call management strategies, and manage their own emotional responses in line with duty-of-care and service standards.Date
