About
BWRAC is running Basic Wildlife Rescue & Transport Training on Saturday 21 March 2026.Upon successful completion of this training, you can apply to become accredited with Wildlife Victoria and start receiving rescue calls. This training will help you understand the requirements of basic wildlife rescue techniques, how to handle wildlife that is being rescued, equipment that you will need, PPE and hygiene for your equipment and humans too, how to pouch check macropods, how to tell if a baby bird needs rescuing or just monitoring. It covers all the basics to get you started on your rescue journey.
You will meet like-minded individuals who are on the same journey as you, and you have the chance to become part of our wildlife rescue community.
You will receive a basic 'towel rescue kit' as part of your registration fee. This contains the basic essentials needed for any wildlife rescue.
You need to bring government issued photo ID on the day (driver licence/Working with Children Check).
The event will have photos and/or video taken during the event. If you do not wish to be photographed, please let a BWRAC representative know on the day.
Basic catering including vegetarian food will be catered. If you have a specific dietary requirement, we recommend that you BYO.
