Join agronomist Lisa Warn for a pasture-focused workshop exploring practical strategies for managing pasture quality and recovery.9:30 am – Start at Cathy and Myles’ PDS site to discuss management of overgrown, low-quality pastures (e.g. silver grass) and options such as mulching and burning, within the site’s constraints of no chemicals or artificial fertiliser.
11:00 am – Visit Fiona Conroy’s farm to inspect high-fertility pastures affected by low stocking rates, including a patchy 2025 phalaris sowing.
12:30 pm – Lunch at The Whiskery.
2:00 pm – Visit Monique’s PDS site to look at overgrown ryegrass pastures and strategies to encourage dense pasture to compete with Chilean needle grass.
3:00 pm – Finish and evaluation.
