This interactive session introduces occupational therapy students to the key principles involved in selecting and providing appropriate out-of-the-box wheelchairs. Using a person-centred approach, students will explore how individual factors and environmental contexts influence wheelchair selection and provision. Participants will gain practical insight into the clinical reasoning required to match wheelchair features with the functional needs, preferences and environments of the people they support.
