Les pots cassés
About
This June, Brisbane French Theatre invites audiences to escape to the South of France with “Les Pots Cassés”, a laugh-out-loud original summer comedy set in a sun-drenched holiday house. On the surface it’s all lavender, pastis, saucisson and cicadas. But scratch just a little and the cracks begin to show!
Set over two weeks leading up to a wedding, “Les Pots Cassés” brings together an endearing dysfunctional family: two sisters who couldn’t be more different, the new fiancé, a sharp-tongued matriarch, a pétanque-obsessed groundskeeper, a first-time wedding planner… And an infamous absentee, whose shadow hangs over everyone and everything.
“Les Pots Cassés” is a fast-paced, entertaining comedy full of sharp observations about family secrets, love and the weight of the past.
This show is performed in French, with English surtitles projected above the stage.
Duration: 140 minutes, including an interval. Recommended for audiences 15+ ( contains mature themes, occasional coarse language and sexual references)
