About

You are warmly invited to attend a lecture by Dr Paul Sessink on occupational exposure to antibiotics and chemotherapy drugs in the healthcare sector.

The lecture will explore the potential risks faced by nurses when preparing and administering these substances, and the importance of understanding contamination pathways in clinical environments. Dr Sessink will share insights from his work measuring hazardous drug residues and discuss technologies used to detect contamination on protective equipment such as gloves.

The session will also highlight a collaborative research project with ECU PhD student Priscilla Singh, which investigates the use of gloves in acute care settings when handling antibiotics.
