The GAC Speedboat Club in conjunction with Goolwa Aquatic Club (GAC) is hosting a brand-new event: a power boat Poker Run and Scavenger Hunt on Saturday 21 March.Registrations
Entry fees are $10 per person for club members and $15 for non-club members. Participants can register online in advance here or on the day from 9:30am at the GAC Clubrooms.
Event Format
The event will kick off with departures starting from 11:00am. Each participant will be provided with a map outlining the course. The route will see boats cruising upstream to Clayton via a Finniss River landmark, then back to the Goolwa Barrage, and returning to the GAC Clubrooms by approximately 2:30pm. Faster boats are expected to arrive earlier. Winners and prize announcements will take place around 3:30pm.

Morning
Start your day with a bacon and egg sandwich
Afternoon
Enjoy a sausage sizzle while relaxing at the clubrooms. The bar will also be open for drinks.
Poker and Scavenger Hunt Details
The Poker game will follow a Texas Hold’em style format. Participants will receive a card at the GAC clubrooms and another at Clayton Bay Jetty (weather permitting). The remaining cards will be drawn at the clubrooms upon your return.
In addition, each team will receive a set of Scavenger Hunt quiz questions. These questions may include cryptic clues or direct references, challenging you and your team to find the answers along the way.
Prizes and Fun
This event is not just about speed but also luck, knowledge, and skill. Whether you’re the fastest on the water, have the best poker hand, are a trivia whiz, or an expert at docking, this is your chance to shine. There are fantastic prizes up for grabs including $150 in cash, Dirty Steve marine engine wash applicator kits, awards for the best dressed boat and passengers, fun prizes donated by D&D Mechanical & 4WD, and the opportunity to have your name engraved on the Perpetual Trophy.
