Join us for our Fastbreak Core Concepts Sessions in Term 2, 2026. The 8 session term will run from 6.30-7.30pm on Wednesdays from May 6 to June 24 at Campus Gym. Gym entrance off Budapest Road, Aberfoyle Park.Limited to a maximum of 12 participants, Fastbreak Core Concepts is designed to teach fundamental basketball skills that coaches often don’t have time to focus on during regular team training.
The program is aimed at U12 and U14 players (or those about to compete at that level). Its goal is to build a strong foundation in essential basketball skills, so players understand both why the skills matter and how to perform them correctly.
The 8 week program teaches key basketball fundamentals, including:
• Footwork – maintaining balance and correct movement.
• Pivoting – moving with the ball without dribbling.
• Passing – proper techniques for chest and bounce passes.
• Dribbling – ball control with both hands and moving in different directions.
• Shooting – shooting form (BEEF), layups, jump shots, and correct positioning.
• Individual defence – basic positioning to guard an opponent.
• Individual offence – beginner ways to get past a defender.
• Skill consolidation – combining these skills in preparation for team competition.
Overall, the program aims to improve confidence, understanding, and skill level by strengthening players’ core basketball fundamentals.
