Sandringham SC - 2026 Budding Ref program

Sandringham SC has run a successful Budding Ref program since 2002 where we train our U12-U18 Junior players to officiate our U8-U11 MiniRoos Home matches on Saturday and Sunday mornings. This program is an inhouse program run exclusively for Sandringham SC registered players only.

This is a great personal development program for our junior age players both as players themselves and in leadership roles.

We are needing 36 Budding Refs to cover all U8-U11 teams this year.

All Referees will be assigned to a permanent team to help foster support and team inclusion.

Experienced refs will be assigned to the older age groups.

We ask all new refs to attend 2 sessions and returning refs to attend 1 as a minimum. You are of course welcome to come along to all if you wish!

Nathan Emsley (qualified FV referee) will be returning as the Budding Ref mentor.

Training Sessions

Wednesday 15th April 3-4pm

Friday 17th April 3-4pm

Saturday 18th April 10-11am

We will be running another training session after the season starts

Where:

Spring st grounds

Bring a whistle if you have one and wear sport clothing

Players are to nominate which days they are available to ref - Saturday and/or Sunday. Keeping in mind that your own matches may impact which day you are available to ref. U12 players will struggle to be able to ref matches on Saturday as your own matches will clash. Similarly U13 players will struggle to ref Sunday as your own matches will clash. I need majority of Refs for Saturday matches.

Payments are $20 for U8/9 and $30 for U10/11 matches.
