Therapeutic Meal Support for Young People with AN
About
This workshop will deliver intensive practical training in the provision of therapeutic meals in the context of family-based approaches in inpatient, outpatient and day patient contexts. This includes utilising a meal session as an assessment, but also as both a parent-led clinician-supported and clinician-led interventions. Participants will learn how to set up meals, ways to consider how to adjust the ‘tone’ of a mealtime to positively impact the ‘task’ (eating), how to work with a co-therapist and/or in a team at mealtimes, and what to do when it’s not working!Presenters
Dr Andrew Wallis (Clinical Social Worker) and Dr Lisa Dawson (Clinical Psychologist) have many years of experience providing tertiary level therapeutic interventions for young people and their families with eating disorders.
