Berlin 1929. A stolen envelope. A thief on the run..

When Emil discovers he’s been robbed, a brilliant gang of young detectives springs into action to track down the culprit. Emil and the Detectives is a fast-moving adventure full of suspense, disguises, clever schemes, and one unforgettable chase across the city. 

There are a number of speaking roles up for grabs this year, but we'll also be seeking out lots of  actors to be in the Ensemble for the play. There are lookouts, planners, chasers and brilliant problem-solvers working together in the story. If you've ever thought about joining the cast of a School Production, then this is your chance!

The show will be directed by Mr Stocker, and will run in the Middleton Theatre in the Camberwell Grammar School Performing Arts Centre for three performances from Wednesday 12 August to Friday 14 August. 

AUDITION INFORMATION

• Auditions are only open to students who are currently in Year 6, 7 and 8 from Camberwell Grammar, and students in Years 7 & 8 from Canterbury Girls' Secondary. 
• Auditions will be run in a workshop format with 6 students in each session. 
• Students should not miss class, sport training or music rehearsals to audition. 
• Script excerpts for auditions will be sent a couple of days before auditions take place. 
• Use your natural voice in auditions- no accents required.
• Please be aware this show contains violence and adult themes.
• Please note - we may not have room in the production for everyone who auditions.
• Please consider that regular rehearsals are held on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday afternoons from May to August (excluding holidays). Whilst not all actors will be needed for every rehearsal, the show will require a large time comittment (particularly in the last 3 weeks leading to Opening Night). 

FIRST CAST MEETING Please keep the date free

• Should you be selected to be in the Cast, you will be required to attend the first Cast Meeting/Rehearsal on Tuesday 5 May from 3.30pm in the PAC.
