Bullying in Schools: Effective MTSS Prevention & Response

Positive relationships are vital to student wellbeing and connection to school, which are hindered by conflict and bullying. This practical workshop is built on the current research and informed practices. Participants are provided with step-by-step processes to undertake restorative approaches to improve relationships using positive psychology, strength-based principles and interventions that resolve conflict & bullying incidents.The workshop includes:
• key prevention & intervention strategies using Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
• resolving conflict & bullying incidents using restorative approaches including the (Pikas) Shared Concern method
• current research on what does and does not work, including findings of the national Anti-Bullying Rapid Review
• how to undertake triage, case management and a two day process following an incident (Rapid Review outcome)
• student centred approaches, including bystanders responses)
• strategies, programs & plans for teachers, parents and students (multi-tiered approaches)
A variety of interactive tools are utilised including classroom resources, scripts, prompt cards, and video demonstrations,
