5 Week Beginner Teen Pottery Workshops
About
We invite teens aged 12 -17 from Current and Ex Serving Defence families to join us for a 5 week Pottery Workshop series.This introduces teens to pottery wheel throwing, hand building and ceramic decoration techniques. Each week teens will learn new skills whilst creating pieces they can use at home or gift to families and friends.
Week 1(Sunday 26th July) - Wheel Throwing - each teen will learn the foundations of wheel throwing whilst creating a bowl.
Week 2(Sunday 2nd August) - Making Cups and Vases whilst focusing on improving wheel control, shaping techniques and wall pulling.
Week 3(Sunday 9th August ) - Hand building attaching handles to cups and learning carving techniques to decorate vases
Week 4(Sunday 16th August) - Teen will create a ceramic game set using hand building techniques
Week 5(Sunday 23rd August) - Teens will learn how to glaze and paint their pottery. All pieces will then be kiln fired for a glossy, food safe finish.
Please note this is a 5 week commitment on the dates listed above.
