About
Motus Integrated Arts presents an ongoing Theatre Training & Creation Lab led by independent artist and Artistic Director Estefania Nurit (Nia)This program is designed to cultivate a local community of performers and interdisciplinary artists on the Sunshine Coast, offering a structured pathway from foundational training in physical and dance-theatre practices to the development of original performance work.
Sessions take place every Friday from 5:00–7:00 pm, at Needo (Coolum Industrial Area).
Each 2-hour session combines physical warm-ups, voice activation, improvisation, and ensemble exercises drawn from contemporary theatre and a variety of movement practices.
Participants enroll in monthly training blocks, each exploring a specific theme and methodology. Across seven blocks throughout the year, participants progress from beginner foundations into intermediate and advanced creative development.
The Creative Lab and Performance dates will happen occasionally outside of the training classes to assist on projects in the way of creation and showcase potential developments.
The program emphasizes embodied practice, improvisation, collaborative inquiry and artistic autonomy, encouraging participants to develop stage presence, creative voice and interdisciplinary awareness.
Participants are also invited to engage with recommended readings, films and performance references, allowing the creative conversation to extend beyond the studio.
No prior experience is required — just curiosity and willingness to show up.
An early bird rate is available when purchasing the monthly block before 01 June, and a discounted rate is available for returning students.
