Noosa Libraries is delighted to launch a new Page to Screen film series celebrating the powerful journey from literature to cinema.Join us for our opening screening of Walkabout, the haunting and visually extraordinary adaptation of the novel by James Vance Marshall.
Directed by Nicolas Roeg, Walkabout follows two city children lost in the Australian outback who encounter a young Aboriginal boy on his traditional walkabout. Together they embark on a journey of survival, discovery and cultural encounter set against the stark beauty of the Australian landscape.
Launching our new series exploring beloved books and their film adaptations, this special screening invites audiences to experience a classic of Australian cinema on the big screen.
Come along, revisit an iconic film, and celebrate the enduring relationship between story and screen.
Doors and bar open at 6pm. Movie screens at 7pm.
