A Dialogue of Peace, Humanity and Justice
Catholic Mission and the Xavier Social Justice Network are excited to welcome Cardinal Charles Maung Bo and Cardinal Mykola Bychok for an evening focused on social justice, humanity and faith.
Guests will be provided with a unique opportunity to hear from two prominent religious leaders coming from war-torn countries and the challenges that they face. Cardinal Charles Maung Bo was previously a guest of Catholic Mission for its 2018 fundraising appeal, which focused on ‘Healing A Nation Through Education’. Funds raised went towards the teacher-training centre, Pyinya Sanyae Institute of Education (PSIE) in Yangon, which Cardinal Bo initiated, as well as St John’s School in the remote town of Hakha.
Cardinal Mykola Bychok, meanwhile, is based in Melbourne and has supported Catholic Mission’s events. As an organisation, CM has supported work in Poland via the Pontifical Mission Societies after the war broke out, as well as partnering with Jesuit Refugee Services. CM contributes and supports the Ukrainian eparchy each year.
The event will begin with a guided panel discussion with the Cardinals, followed by a Q&A session.
This event is free of charge with registrations essential.
