Thanks for your interest and understanding.Join Dharug educator Erin Wilkins and sound artist Oonagh Sherrard for a slow walk focused on Listening to Country and the art of listening at Mountain View Reserve Cranebrook. Participants will be guided in active and mindful listening practices, hear stories about the history and ecology of the Penrith Lakes and Cranebrook areas and listen to underwater sounds with specialised microphones.
Participants will also be invited to respond creatively in a sound journal they will be given, to encourage reflection on Country and the soundscape all around us.
Expand your understanding of listening and get to know the waterways of Cranebrook in a whole new way, by joining in this free event, supported by Penrith Council's Magnetic Places.
This activity is best suited towards attendees with a moderate level of fitness and ability to be still and quiet for periods of time. Recommended age 12 and above. Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

WHERE: Mountain View Reserve Cranebrook, Nepean St entrance - attendees will be emailed exact meeting location
ACCESSIBILITY : The walk includes uneven surfaces and a climb up an uneven stairway to a lookout. Please wear enclosed footwear.
Please note there are no public toilets at Mountain View Reserve.
WEATHER : This event is outdoors and weather dependent, attendees will be notified of any cancellation or rescheduling due to weather.
