About

MUSIC OF MYTH, LANDSCAPE & IMAGINATION

From the whisper of a forest to the depths of the ocean, from ancient legends to distant celestial skies, Trio Lyra explores the extraordinary colours and textures of flute, viola and harp.

This concert brings together music inspired by nature, mythology and the landscapes, real and imagined, that have shaped human stories for centuries.

Hear the shimmering colours of the forests of Mel Bonis’ Scènes de la forêt, the submerged world of Miguel del Aguila, the legendary lost city of Alan Stivell’s YS, the mythological world of Robert Paterson’s Xi Wang Mu, and the celestial imagination of David Bruce’s The Eye of Night.

Each work offers a different musical landscape, revealing the remarkable expressive possibilities of this combination of flute, viola and harp.

COME AND HEAR MUSIC THAT TELLS A STORY.

An afternoon of colour, atmosphere and musical discovery with Trio Lyra.
