About
The Australian Cricket Society is delighted to welcome special guest Luke Ball to speak at their upcoming event at Quarterhouse.Best known for his distinguished AFL career with St Kilda and Collingwood — including being part of Collingwood’s 2010 premiership team — Luke’s sporting story also includes a strong connection to cricket. A talented cricketer in his youth, Luke attended Xavier College where he was a standout performer with the bat, finishing his school career as the second-highest run scorer in the college’s history.
Like many great Australian sportsmen, Luke grew up balancing both football and cricket, developing the competitive instincts and leadership qualities that would later define his AFL career. His experiences across both codes provide a unique perspective on elite sport, preparation, and the similarities between two of Australia’s most loved games.
Guests will enjoy hearing Luke reflect on his journey from talented schoolboy cricketer to AFL premiership player, sharing insights, stories and lessons from a life immersed in sport.
