WHAT IS RESTORATIVE YOGA?
Restorative yoga focuses on deep relaxation and stress reduction. It involves passive supported postures with an emphasis on letting go and melting into the poses to achieve a state of deep relaxation and tension release. Fewer poses are held for a longer duration, allowing the body and mind to fully relax and integrate the benefits of the practice. The gentle stretching and support provided by props can help alleviate muscle tension and pain.
This practice promotes relaxation and healing, reducing stress and calming the nervous system. It balances emotional well-being and increases self-awareness. Restorative yoga offers benefits such as stress reduction, improved sleep, and pain relief. It is suitable for all levels.

GUEST ARTIST
Musician Clare Cowley joins us for a relaxing change of pace from her busy touring schedule, to play a soothing live soundscape.
Celebrating her recent crowdfunded album, Synthetic Lover, Clare Cowley is in Naarm to perform her new poetic folk-country album, featuring finger-style guitar and smoky harmonica.
The velvety vocalist hails from the small town of Allora, where her musical journey began with sing-alongs around the piano, inspiring recorded music that embodies this spontaneous spirit.
Following a series of exciting shows—including support for Neil Murray in St Kilda (Naarm) and the launch of her album with The Flames at The Old Museum (Meanjin)—Clare will showcase Synthetic Lover, highlighting her vocal tenderness, lyrical sincerity, and themes of fear, love, death, and devotion in an intimate solo performance at the Thornbury Local - Sunday 19th of April - 5-7pm. You can also catch her supporting Neil Murray at the Memo Club, St Kilda on April 17th and The Drunken Poet - Tuesday 21st of April - Clare Cowley sings the songs of Gillian Welch 8-9pm.
